Pricing Schedules for Interpretation
Many agencies meet their interpretation-service needs by using in-house
bilingual employees. Once an agency’s demand exceeds the supply
of available employees, agencies may contract with professional interpretation-service
providers to fill in the gaps. Agencies may hold contracts with several
service providers, often using different companies to provide interpretation
and translation services. Because much of the work does not need
to be completed at the agency’s location, agencies have contracts
with companies all over the United States instead of primarily in the
local area. Language-line service plans, which agencies frequently use,
allow front-desk employees and caseworkers to call the service provider
and receive interpretation services via a three-way call between the
service provider, the interpreter, and the client.
Typical Contract Provisions

5 p.m. and midnight, after midnight, and holidays and weekends)
