for Refugees is projecting the return of nearly two million people, with 1.2 million returning
from Pakistan and another 400,000 from Iran. In addition, the UNHCR will assist roughly 400,000
IDPs (internally displaced persons). As of the end of June 2002, approximately 1.1 million Afghans
had returned home. (Source: UNHCR)
